Yates Center track teams medal at first meet

LYNDON — Yates Center High’s Wildcat track teams competed in Friday’s Lyndon High Spring Relays.
Dylan Sicka captured gold medals in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter races. His winning time in the 1600 was 4 minutes, 57 seconds and he won the 3200 in 10:54.8.
Donnie Bennett won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 44.8 seconds and David VanHoose was fourth in 48.7. Bennett was fourth in the 100-meter high hurdles in 18.5 seconds.
Joe Tressler took third in the 100-meter dash in 12.17 seconds and fourth in the 200 meters in 24.4. Jacob Pennuto was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 54.9 seconds.
Austin Knobloch was fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:22.
Sicka was fifth in the long jump at 18’6 1/4”.
Brae Adams and Emily Leach went 1-2 in the girls’ discus for Yates Center. Adams won the event with a throw of 112’3”. Leach’s distance was 84’10”.
Cherokee Schaffer cleared the high jump bar at 4’4” for the silver medal. Haley Bedell took third at 4’2”.
Schaffer placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 71 seconds. Bedell was sixth in the 100-meter high hurdles in 20.8 seconds.
