Wildcats place in JV track meet

FORT SCOTT — Marmaton Valley High’s track teams competed in a junior varsity track meet Tuesday hosted by Fort Scott High School.
Kelsey Brantley won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 54.08 seconds. Caitlin Isaac ran fifth in the 100-meter high hurdles in 19.31 seconds followed by Brantley in sixth at 19.61.
Isaac took sixth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 61.68 seconds. Lydia Lance placed sixth in the long jump at 12 feet, 10 1/2 inches.
Isaac, Lance, Brantley and Christian Hartman combined for a sixth-place time of 1:07.7 in the 4x100-meter relay race.
Mikael Hatfield took third in the javelin with a throw of 137’7” and Shawn Storrer was fourth at 137’4”. Storrer took sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:25.30.
Hatfield, Storrer, Skyler Houk and Landon Hammond ran the 4x100-meter relay race in 50.18 seconds to finish sixth.
