Wildcats claim victory

MORAN — A three-touchdown second quarter boosted Marmaton Valley Junior High’s Wildcats to a 34-22 win Thursday.
The Wildcats broke open the game against visiting West Elk by scored 20 points in the second period.
Nick Trollope had a 10-yard touchdown run in the first quarter then had scoring runs of nine and four yards in the second period. Michael Swift returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown.
Marmaton Valley led 28-14 at halftime. Sage Hall scored on a 13-yard run for the Wildcats in the third quarter.
Trollope had 100 yards on 13 carries and Swift had 38 yards on seven carries. Hall had 34 yards on seven carries. Garrett Booth made two catches for 15 yards.
Defensively, Trollope had 13 tackles, Swift and Hall had six tackles each. David Harris recovered a fumble.
