Wildcat, Eagle golf teams play in events

With the constant changing of spring sports because of weather conditions, the Register is catching up on some area high school golf results.
Varsity Golf
Marmaton Valley High’s varsity golf team played at a tournament in Erie, April 9. Teams only got 13 holes played before severe weather halted the event so Erie scored just the first nine holes.
Marmaton Valley was third with a team scored of 185. Drew Stevenson shot a 43, finishing in a tie for fifth. Uniontown High’s Justin Query was sixth with a 44. Marmaton Valley’s Rob McEwan shot a 45, tying for seventh.
Other scores for Marmaton Valley were: Dalton Houk 48, Derek George 49, James Allison 49, and Jordan Wojenski 53.
The Crest High Invitational golf tournament slated for April 13 was canceled because of rain and won’t be made up.
Jr. Varsity Golf
Marmaton Valley and Uniontown’s junior varsity golfers played at the Erie JV Invitational on April 14. Marmaton Valley took seventh with a 242 and Uniontown was 11th with a 273.
Scores for Marmaton Valley were: Josh Isaac 55, Taylor Lhuiller 64, William Nunnery 58, Scott Tholen 65, Cody Knight 69, Ben Smith 73.
Scores for Uniontown were: Chance Hoener 58, Reed Gleason 70, Brenden Wood 71, Cole George 74, Seth Bartlett 74, Drew George 77.
Last Thursday, Marmaton Valley and Uniontown played at the junior varsity meet hosted by Jayhawk-Linn High School in Mound City. Marmaton Valley shot a 259 for seventh and Uniontown was ninth with a 282.
For Marmaton Valley, Josh Isaac shot a 55, tying for 14th. Other scores were John Page 63, William Nunnery 67, Scott Tholen 64, Cody Knight 68, Ben Smith 64.
No individual scores were reported for Uniontown.
