Wet field conditions force game shifting

Softball and baseball season openers for Iola High were put on hold Tuesday. Wet field conditions at Altamont and here have stymied the start of the seasons for the Fillies and Mustangs.
Labette County High’s junior varsities were to have played here Monday. Those games were wiped off the scheduled, not to be made up.
Iola’s varsity squads were to have played at Labette County on Tuesday. Those games — softball and baseball — were moved to Friday at the same time in Altamont.
Games between Uniontown and host Yates Center, both baseball and softball, were moved from Tuesday to April 13.
Allen County Community College shifted Tuesday’s baseball and softball games to different days.
The Red Devil baseball team is at home playing Labette from Parsons at 3 o’clock today. The Red Devil softball team moved its home doubleheader with Fort Scott to 1 p.m. Sunday.
