YCHS Wildcats lose

FREDONIA — Yates Center High’s Wildcats fell 46-0 to host Fredonia High’s Yellowjackets Friday night.
The Yellowjackets rolled to 417 total offensive yards in the Tri-Valley League game. The Wildcats had 97 total yards.
By halftime, Fredonia led 33-0. Bryson Allen had touchdown runs of nine and 15 yards for Fredonia. Billy Graves caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Lawrence in the first quarter and scored on a six-yard run in the second period.
Wyatt JuAire had a 50-yard interception return for the touchdown. Brandon Voth kicked three extra points.
In the second half, Fredonia got a 15-yard touchdown run by Travis Shay and an eight-yard run to the end zone by Kyle Wood. Voth kicked another extra point.
For the Wildcats, Andrew Weber rushed for 13 yards on five carries. Devin Gregg was 2 of 6 for 82 yards passing. Both passes were caught by Donald Bennett.
Weber had nine solo tackles and three assisted tackles for the Wildcat defense. Bennett had seven solo stops and two assists while Gregg had five solo stops and four assists. David Vanhoose had three unassisted tackles and three assisted.
Yates Center, which is 0-2 after losing its opener 14-0 to Eureka, hosts Caney Valley this Friday.
