Phillips pulls out B-Mod victory

HUMBOLDT — Paden Phillips was in the right position at the right time.
When early leader Dave Chambers experienced mechanical problems, Phillips drove to the front and never looked back in Friday night’s B-Mod feature race. Phillips and the rest of the B-Mod drivers were gearing up for this coming Friday’s B-Mod $1,000-to-Win Special.
Rick Aiello was in the ninth slot at the starting line but worked his way through the field to finish second to Phillips. Jimmie Davis ran third followed by Nathan Ellison and Levi McGowen to round out the top five.
Derrek Wilson claimed the spoils of winning the factory stock feature race Friday. Jon Westhoff came across the finish line in second and Zac Simmons was third. Patrick Kay placed fourth and Allen Crammer took fifth.
Johnny Green won the street stock feature race. Dustin Marvin challenged but settled for second. Chance Knight took third and Chuck Miller was fourth.
Jesse Folk Jr. made his move to the front on the seventh lap of the modified feature race and never relinquished it. Darren Fuqua, who led early, finished second.
Rodney Sigg crossed the finish line in third and Justin Folk finished fourth. Scott Daniels moved up and ended up fifth.
Gates open at 6 p.m. Fridays with races starting at 8 p.m.
