Lady Titans beat Eagles in championship
match of MVHS JV Invitational

MORAN — Southern Coffey County High’s Lady Titan junior varsity breezed through its pool play Saturday at Marmaton Valley High’s Junior Varsity Invitational volleyball tournament.
The Lady Titans did not lose a set in going 4-0 in pool play. Uniontown High’s Eagle junior varsity did the same in its pool, 4-0 and winning each match in two sets.
Southern Coffey County and Uniontown battled for the tournament championship. The Lady Titans came out on top 15-13, 5-15, 15-7.
West Franklin defeated Central Heights 15-12, 15-11 for third place.
Host Marmaton Valley and Crest went 1-3 in pool action. Hartford and Southeast-Cherokee were 2-2 in pool action while Humboldt and Northeast-Arma each went 0-4.
Kristin Stephens had 13 kills, six coming in the championship match, for Southern Coffey County. Ashley Johnson put down 10 kills and served seven aces. Sarah Webb had eight kills and three ace serves.
Katelyn Rogers served up nine aces. Keasha Parks had 10 set assists and six service aces while Brooke Scheele had nine assists and seven aces.
No other teams sent individual statistics to the Register.

Marmaton Valley over Northeast 16-18, 15-9, 15-7, Central Heights over Marmaton Valley 14-16, 15-10, 15-7, Hartford over Marmaton Valley 15-10, 12-15, 15-11.
Crest over Humboldt 11-15, 15-9, 15-11, West Franklin over Crest 15-10, 15-8, Southeast over Crest 15-11, 15-13.
Humboldt lost to Southeast 15-9, 19-17 and lost to West Franklin 15-5, 15-3.
