Justin Folk captures victory

HUMBOLDT — Driving his uncle’s modified stock car, Justin Folk made a statement Friday at Humboldt Speedway.
It doesn’t matter which car he is driving or where he has to start in the field. Justin Folk is driving to win the race.
Win he did as he came from eight spots deep in the middle of the 20-lap feature race to take the checkered flag in the modified division at Humboldt. Justin Folk maneuvered his “borrowed” car through the field to take the lead away from Jessy Willard.
Willard finished second in the race followed by Jesse Folk Jr, John Allen and Dan Daniels. Justin Folk was driving his uncle Jerald Folk’s car as his own is still being repaired.
Not only do drivers have to win the race on the track but their cars have to pass technical inspections.
Scott Stuart passed two technical inspections after winning the factory stock feature race. Derrek Wilson ran second followed by Matt Weintz, Colton Bunn and Travis Barker for the top five.
Paden Phillips wasn’t as fortunate. He won the B-Mod feature by his car failed to make the required post-race weight. That put Nathan Ellison in the winner’s spot Friday. Dalton Kirk finished second.
Rick Aiello was third in the B-Mod race. Jim Davis was fourth and Mike Letterman was fifth.
In the street stock feature, Johnny Green won for the second time in a row. Eddie Fox crossed the finish line in second place. Tyler James ran third followed by Jed Rice and Jeff Lyda.
