Freshman Fillies win tourney;
Mustang freshmen are second

FORT SCOTT — Iola High’s freshman girls lost their final game but won the Fort Scott High freshman tournament last Friday.
The Fillies lost 31-26 to host Fort Scott in the final of the round-robin event. The Fillies went 2-1 as did Chanute but Iola’s win over Chanute was the tiebreaker.
The Fillies won the first-place medals.
In the game against Fort Scott, Lisa McFadden led Iola with 12 points and Kendra Taiclet had eight points.
Iola High’s freshman boys finished second to host Fort Scott in their division. The Mustangs wrapped up play at the tournament Friday with a 63-41 win over Marmaton Valley.
