Fillies JV wins one, loses two

LOUISBURG — Iola High’s junior varsity volleyball team bounced back after two losses early Thursday to record a win.
The Fillies beat Anderson County 25-17, 23-25, 18-16. They lost to Ottawa 25-17, 28-26 then to host Louisburg 26-24, 25-18.
Riana Dolenz served for six points against Ottawa and had two kills at the net. Tori Snavely, who only missed two sets in 55 attempts in three matches, served for five points and had one ace serve.
Carly Mulsow served four points and had four kills. Kirstin McGuffin had two service points and three kills while Toni Taylor downed five kills and one service point. Kelsey Adams had one service point, two kills and one stuff block.
In the Louisburg match, Taylor served up seven points, had one ace and one kill. Adams had five points and two kills and Mulsow had three points and one kill. Dolenz served for three, pounded down three kills and made two blocks. Snavely had two service points and McGuffin had one point served and two kills.
Dolenz served 10 points and had one ace in Iola’s win over Anderson County. She also made three blocks and one kill at the net. Taylor served eight points and had one ace, McGuffin had seven points and two aces, Snavely had five service points and one ace, Mulsow had three points and one ace and Adams had two service points.
Taylor and Mulsow each had seven kills and Taylor had a block.
McGuffin had two kills while Snavely and Adams each had one kill. Adams had two blocks.
