Ellison captures shortened B-Mod race at Humboldt

HUMBOLDT — Car pile-ups led to a shortened B-Mod feature race Saturday at Humboldt Speedway.
The time limit ran out on the B-Mod drivers because of mishaps during the feature. In the shortened race, Nathan Ellison was awarded the victory with points-leader Max Grogan in second.
Leon Bash finished third in the race. Chris Brec-heisen and Jimmie Davis rounded out the top five.
Derrek Wilson held the lead in the factory stock feature race but couldn’t keep it.
Scott Stuart passed Wilson in lap 12 on his way to victory lane. Wilson finished second, holding off Scott Lucke. Dustin Dixon ran fourth and Matt Weintz was fifth.
In the street stock feature, Johnny Green used his inside pole starting spot to lead wire-to-wire for the win. Eddie Fox crossed the finish line in second place followed by Aaron Murry, Tyler James and Chance Knight.
The modified drivers were gearing up for this Friday’s $1,000-to-win event with 30 cars in last Saturday’s races.
With the top 10 redrawing for the feature after the heat races, Jesse Folk Jr. grabbed the No. 1 position, with his brother, Justin Folk, in the next slot. The Folk brothers battled the whole way as Justin led early then Jesse took the lead and held it for the victory.
John Allen ran third and Brian McGowen was fourth. Jessy Willard took fifth.
The Speedway races are back on Fridays. This Friday is the modified $1,000-to-win. Gates open at 6 p.m. with races starting at 8 o’clock.
