Eagle track athletes place at Frontenac

FRONTENAC — In a rain-shortened track meet, Uniontown High’s athletes had five first-place performances Thursday at the Frontenac High Invitational.
Colt Bartlett won the boys discus with a throw of 121 feet, 1 inch.
David Shank claimed gold in the javelin with a distance of 154 feet.
Bartlett was third and Shank sixth in the shot put. Ben Dixon placed fifth in the long jump.
Emily Aikins won the 100-meter dash in 13.54 seconds. Abbie Smith posted a winning time of 17.02 seconds in the 100-meter high hurdles.
Kate Spainhoward was the gold medalist in the girls shot put at 32’31⁄4”. Aikins placed fifth in the event. Spainhoward was second in the discus at 95’5”.
Smith placed second in the long jump, 16’41⁄2”, and Aikins was third. Jacy Ermel placed fourth in the javelin, 83’7”.
Jessica Schaaf ran second in the 3200-meter run and fourth in the 1600-meter run.
Next up for the UHS varsity track athletes will be the Waverly High Invitational on April 20 at Burlington.
