Eagle golfers finish fifth

EUREKA — Uniontown High Eagles and Yates Center High’s Wildcats competed in Wednesday’s Eureka High Invitational girls golf tournament.
The Eagle girls finished fifth with a four-player score of 267. Yates Center was eighth at 287.
Fredonia won the team title with a 192 for the nine-hole event. Andover combined for a 193 followed by Augusta at 225 and Caney Valley at 259.
Yates Center’s Emily Baker had the lowest score for the two area teams, shooting a 63 for 20th.
Uniontown’s Bethany Ericson carded a 64 for 25th and Emily Simpson was 26th with a 65. Veronica Harrison ended up with a 68 and Brooke Murrow shot a 70.
Other Uniontown scores were Sabrena McAnulty with a 79 and Ravon Hixon with an 81.
Yates Center scores were Maggie German, 67, Margie Hartwig, 68, and Amber Jennings, 89.
