ACCC harriers run in Stampede

JOPLIN, Mo. — Allen County Community College cross country teams finally opened their 2009 season Saturday.
The Red Devil runners competed in the annual Missouri Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern University.
Allen County’s men finished 35th as a team. There were 359 runners in the 8K race.
Allen County was led by Brandon Forbes who placed 317th, running the race in 30 minutes, 47.78 seconds. Jean Frenot was 327th in 31:37.81.
Hunter Wehner placed 330th in 31:45.12 and J.T. Thurston was 341st in 33:42.04.
Anthonio Burnett finished 345th in 34:16.50. Kyrese Banks crossed the line in 351st in 35:34.01.
Allen County’s women — all three of them — ran the 5K distance at the Stampede. There were 359 runners in the race.
Crystal Jerome was the top finisher for ACCC. She ran the race in 23:06.47 which placed her 299th.
Kelsey Bleadsoe was 314th in 23:38.86. Amanda Smith ran the race in 28:05.95 for 347th.
