ACCC comes out even in tournament

EL DORADO — After losing their first two matches of last weekend’s Butler Community College Invitational, the Allen County Community College Red Devils evened things out with two wins.
According to the Jayhawk Conference Web site, the Red Devils dropped a 25-23, 25-18, 25-18 decision to Neosho County then lost 18-25, 25-113, 26-24, 25-19 to Coffeyville.
Allen County bounced back with a comeback win over Independence, 23-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-21. The Red Devils beat Hesston 25-23, 25-9, 22-25, 25-11.
The Register was able to find a few individual statistics for the Red Devils from the tournament.
Allen County had even play from its two setters. Mindi Lozenski was credited with 60 assists and Mandy Hug had 59 assists.
Leading the net attack was Nicole Rockhold with 40 kills and Jennifer House with 35 kills. Amy Bolen downed 11 kills while Suzie Fields made 13 blocks.
Misty Powelson came up with 33 digs defensively. Andrea Miller had seven service aces and Brooke Bingham had five aces.
The Red Devils host their ACCC Invitational Saturday at Iola High School’s gym.
