ACCC baseball team wins twice at home

Allen County Community College’s Red Devil baseball team captured victories over Brown Mackie College here Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Devils bounced Brown Mackie 11-3 in the opener. Jake Hosey was the winning pitcher, going five innings and allowing one run on two hits and two walks. He struck out nine.
Ben Rister pitched two innings, giving up two runs on three hits and one walk. Rister had three strikeouts.
Wyatt Hall cranked out a double, a triple and solo home run for the Red Devils. Bretton Ater singled four times and drove in two runs.
Dillon Hazlett connected for three singles. William Reddick and Connor McCrite each doubled. Josh Ward, Marcus Peavler and Ryan Herrig had a single each.
Allen County led 5-1 when it scored five runs in the fifth. The Red Devils added a run in the sixth.
A seven-run first inning fueled the Red Devils’ 12-0 win in five innings over Brown Mackie in the nightcap. They scored four runs in the third and one more in the fourth.
Brandon Faulkner claimed the pitching victory. He threw four innings of shutout baseball while allowing two hits and striking out four. ACCC closer John Michael Moore pitched the fifth and struck out two batters.
Ward led the ACCC offensive attack with a single and a double. Michael Samuel and Peavler each hit two singles.
Ater doubled and drove in three runs. Reddick and Stefaan Jefferson each had a double. Hitting a single each were Hazlett, Seth Dutton and Danny White.
The Red Devils improved to 7-1 for the season.
They play at home Thursday in one, nine-inning game against Butler Community College starting at 3 p.m. at Red Devil Field.
