West services

Visitation for Donna Lorene West of rural Colony, whose death Tuesday was reported in Tuesday’s Register, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Northcott Church west of Colony. The Revs. Sharon Voorhees and William Stahl will officiate. Burial will be in Logue Cemetery east of Le Roy.
She was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Allen County, the daughter of John and Addie (Hienlien) Tippie. She grew up in the Geneva and Carlyle areas and graduated from Colony High School. She worked as a telephone operator and at Kress’ Department Store in Iola prior to her marriage.
On Nov. 23, 1946, she married Lawrence Eldon West in Iola. They made their home on a farm west of Colony in the Northcott neighborhood where she was a homemaker and farm wife. He died Nov. 5, 2009.
She was a member of Loyal Neighbor Club and Northcott Church, where she taught Sunday school when she was younger. She enjoyed sewing, canning and singing.
She is survived by a son, Wayne and his wife, Ginger, rural Colony; two daughters, Linda Smith and her husband, Pete, rural Colony, and Cinda Croley and her husband, Earl, Iola; a sister, Dorothy McGhee and her husband, Duane, Iola; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A sister, Arlene Hirt, died earlier.
