Schainost services

Graveside services for Clark E. Schainost of Colony, whose death Monday was published in Tuesday’s Register, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Colony Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Colony.
He was born to Charles and Mildred (Kline) Schainost on March 12, 1937, at his childhood home a half mile from where he and his wife of 48 years and his three sons made their home.
On Feb. 5, 1961, he married Christine Hoffman at Grace Lutheran Church in Iola. After graduating from Colony High School in 1955, he earned an associate’s degree from Iola Junior College.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged in 1964. He was a farmer and cattle rancher in Anderson County. He served on the Crest School Board for many years and was a member of Colony Lions Club, Iola Elks, Iola American Legion and Iola American Legion 40-8.
He is survived by his wife; his son, Mike and his wife, Jeanie, Garnett, and their sons, Jacob and Cole; his son, Gary and his wife, Tracy, Colony, and their children, Kristin, Patience and Tanner; and his son, Todd and his wife, Lois, Ellicott, Colo., and their son, Blake; two stepgrandsons, B.J. Schaumann and Jay Schaumann; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Marilyn Kimsey, Boulder, Colo., and Evelyn Calzaretta, Mesa, Ariz.
A brother, Duane, died earlier.
