Ruth Hart

Ruth Evelyn Hart, 89, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, in Texas City, Texas.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1919, in Iola, the daughter of Bertha and Christian Ronsick and lived in the same farm house most of her life.
She married Perley Lewis in May 1938. Born to this marriage were a son, James “Jimmy” David Lewis, and a daughter Nancy Laurel Lewis. Jimmy died of cancer at the age 3. The couple later divorced.
She married Melvin Vest May 5, 1948. Born to this marriage were Daniel Mark Vest, Melvin David Vest and Melanie Rosemary Vest. He died in April 1977.
In addition to reading her Bible, she also enjoyed gardening, sewing, decorating and working crossword puzzles.
She won an award for her volunteer work at Countryside Nursing Home.
In her retirement years, she married George Hart on March 23, 1986.
She was a member of Iola Baptist Temple for more than 50 years.
She is survived by a sister, Ann Kennedy and her husband, Dee, Brownfield, Texas; her daughter Nancy Kasper, La Porte, Texas; Dan Vest, Augusta; Melanie Hatch and her husband, Bill, Cypress, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Her brothers, Walter and Herbert Ronsick, sons, Jimmy Lewis and David Vest, and grandsons, Dan Vest and Ryan Hatch, died earlier.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Iola Baptist Temple.
