Riley services

Visitation for Robert L. “Bob” Riley of Westphalia, whose death Friday was reported in Saturday’s Register, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeff Cokely will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Kimble, Mo., the son of John Joseph and Alvie Gertrude (West) Riley. He grew up in Kimble and attended school in Licking. After his parents died he moved to St. Louis, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for a number of years.
On June 11, 1955, he married LaVerne Lane. They lived in the St. Louis area before moving to Westphalia. He drove a truck for several years and worked 19 years for the City of Iola as the animal control officer before his retirement.
His favorite pastime was coon hunting.
He is survived by his wife of the home; four sons, Richard L. ‘Rick’ and Norma, Iola, Joe and Reece of Abilene, Michael, Westphalia, and Brian and Sarah, Humboldt; a daughter, Cindy Powell, and Wayne, Iola; a brother, George, Jerseyville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren;
An infant daughter, Lisa, four brothers, John, Michael, James and Joseph, and two sisters, Corda Hall and Pat White, died earlier.
