Rea services

Funeral services for former Iolan, Julia Marie Rea of Brunswick, Mo., whose death Tuesday was reported in Wednesday’s Register, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola. The Rev. Gene McIntosh will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
She was born June 24, 1915, in Neosho Falls, the daughter of Hugh A. and Stella Marie (Schaede) McDaniel. She grew up in Neosho Falls.
On Oct. 4, 1941, she married William E. Rea in Kansas City, Mo. Following his honorable discharge from the service after World War II, they made their home in Iola. He died Nov. 17, 1997.
She attended Calvary United Methodist Church and enjoyed baking, crocheting and teaching those skills to others.
She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Sharp and her husband, Lawrence “Bo,” Keytesville, Mo., and Elora Manheim, Douglass; six grandchildren, Stacey Sharp, Dawn Rea, Crystal Batista, John Roper, James Roper and Holly Roper; 11 great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Harley McDaniel, Columbus, and Jerry McDaniel, Bowdoin, Maine.
Two sons, Hugh and Edward, a brother, Loyd McDaniel, and a nephew, Harold E. “Danny” McDaniel, died earlier.
Memorials to Calvary United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.
