Orville Eugene Chandler

Orville Eugene Chandler, 76, of Eagle Rock, Mo., passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at home after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 23, 1933, to Roland and Julia Chandler, he graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1950 and attended college at Allen County Community College in Kansas.
He served in the Criminal Investigative Unit in the United States Army.
On April 5, 1959, he married Georgia Mae Clark. He was the owner and operator of Chandler Amoco Enterprises in Chanute, Kan., retiring in 1991 to Eagle Rock with his wife. He loved his family, Table Rock Lake, camping and bowling. He was a 50-year member of the Moran Masonic Lodge and the American Legion and an active supporter for Missouri Conservation.
Orville is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Larry Lea of Kansas City and Georgia and Rodney Graves of Hutchinson, Kan.; two grandchildren, Dallas Lea and his wife, Angela, of Belton, Mo., and Mae Graves of Hutchinson; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Lea and Kennedy Lea of Belton; three sisters, Leona Werner of Chanute, Kan., Linda Call of Yates Center, Kan., and Sharon Utley of Iola, Kan.; and one brother, Wayne Chandler of Moran, Kan.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his son, David.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, in Orville’s home.
