Marty Lord

Marty Ray Lord, 48, of Uniontown died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at his home following a short illness.
He was born Sept. 17, 1961, in Alva, Okla., the son of Earnest M. and Hazel Mae Bergen Lord. He moved with his family to Uniontown in 1964 to live on a farm. He attended school in Uniontown graduating in 1976. While in high school he was active in FFA. He attended Fort Scott Community College where he played football. He later graduated from Missouri Southern College.
He taught school for 11 years, first in Bismark, Mo., then in Colony and later in Butler, Mo. He served as basketball, wrestling and baseball coach during his teaching career.
He married Jamie Seifker in 1986. They were divorced.
Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Lord, McComb, Ill.; his parents, Uniontown; a brother, Frank and his wife, Lucille, Uniontown; two sisters, Vicki Wood, Hume, Mo., and Mary Ridge and her husband, Tom, Xenia; and nephews, nieces and great- nieces and nephews.
A son, Austin, brother, Corky, brother-in-law, Kenny Wood, his maternal grandparents, Frank Alfred and Mary Jane Sims Bergen, paternal grandparents, Ralph Earnest and Mary McKinley Lord, and uncles and aunts died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. Following funeral services there will be cremation with private family burial in the Bronson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bronson chapel.
