Marjorie Harwood

Former Humboldt resident Marjorie Harwood, 93, a Grand Lake of the Cherokees resident, died Sunday Nov. 22, 2009.
She was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Queen City, Mo., the daughter of W.J. and Josephine (Swetnam) Casper. She attended Pittsburg State University and taught elementary school, typing and music in Humboldt.
On May 25, 1941, she married Elmer Harwood. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed bird watching and was a church soloist. They moved to the Grand Lake area in 1980. She was an active member of Ketchum United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of Chapter A.M., PEO in Humboldt, Lakeside Garden Club and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include three sons, Dan and his wife, Darlene, Owasso, Okla., Robert and his wife, Susan, Chanute, and Joe, Grand Lake; four grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Her husband, Elmer, and a brother, Ken Casper, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home in Langley, Okla.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ketchum United Methodist Church with the Revs. Diana Bradford and Carl Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in McLaughlin Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to service time Wednesday.
