Lucille McClanahan

Lucille Marie McClanahan, 69, of Olathe died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1939, in LaHarpe, to Everett and Thelma Cloyd Manbeck.
She lived in LaHarpe until 1956, when she married Gary Lee Baker. Together they had four children. Their marriage ended in divorce. On Jan. 15, 1965, she married Donald McClanahan in Miami, Okla. They lived throughout the country until settling in Olathe.
She worked as a seamstress for H.D. Lee Company in Ottawa, D & L Construction Company and Dillard’s department store before retiring due to failing health in 1999. She enjoyed bowling, the Royals, game shows, gospel network, Ottawa Eagle, American Legion, Red Hat Club, Seamstress Union and NASCAR races on Sunday.
Survivors are her mother, Thelma Menbeck, LaHarpe; two daughters, Linda Farrell, Fort Worth, Texas, and Anna Reese, Wellsville; sons, Charles Baker, Olathe, and Edward Baker, Paola; two stepdaughters, Judy Shay, Richmond, and Debbie Gilbert, Harrisonville, Mo.; a stepson, Thomas McClanahan, LaHarpe; two brothers, Clyde Manbeck, Iola, and Richard Manbeck, LaHarpe; five sisters, Ruth Caudell, Colony, Mary Clay, LaHarpe, Ida Andruss, Topeka, Barbara Johnson, Palo Pinto, Texas., and Beth Prock , Iola; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Don McClanahan, her father, Everett Manbeck, two sisters, Dorothy Gilman and Carolyn McGuffin, and a stepdaughter, Cindy Cook, died earlier.
Services will be this afternoon at 1:30 at Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl. Burial will be in Paola Cemetery.
