Lori Lushbough

Former Iolan Loralyn K. “Lori” Lushbough, 54, Moore, Okla., died Thursday, July 9, 2009, while visiting in Iola.
She was born April 4, 1955, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the daughter of Joseph and Sharon L. (Otto) Cummings. With her father in the military, she grew up following his career in Colorado Springs, Okinawa, Japan, Fort Bragg, N.C., and Sioux Falls, S.D. She attended Iola High School.
On Dec. 26, 1975, she married Gary Lushbough in Miami, Okla. They made their home in Iola, Manhattan, Wichita, Texas and Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2003.
She worked as a social services aide in Oklahoma, as a nurse’s aide at Arkhaven Nursing Home in Iola and at the Moran Manor and at Herff-Jones in Iola.
She loved New Orleans and spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived a son, Derek, and his wife, Anne, Moore; two grandchildren, Loriann and Andrew; her mother-in-law, Juanita McHaley, Iola; three sisters, Lynn Crawford, Grain Valley, Mo., Jeralyn “Jeri” Emanuel Iola, and Missy Barker, Colony. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, “Ronnie” Emanuel.
A memorial service will be at 6 .m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola. Visitation will follow the service. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials are suggested for her grandchildren’s college education fund and left with the funeral home, which is in charge of the arrangements.
