Lorene Mann

Lola Lorene Mann, 89, of Moran died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Heritage Health Care in Chanute.
She was born May 6, 1920, in Moran, the daughter of Arthur Glen and Martha Esther (Reynolds) Jackson. She grew up in the Mildred area and graduated from Mildred High School.
She worked in the aviation plants in Wichita during World War II.
On Jan. 24, 1947, she married Delbert F. Mann in Fort Scott. They made their home in the Mildred area. She worked as a cook for the Mildred schools. In 1959, the family moved to Moran where she worked for Gene Robertson at a grocery store. She also worked for George Varner at his restaurant in Moran and later cooked for the Moran schools until she retired. Her husband died May 1, 1982.
She enjoyed traveling and baking for her church and other civic organizations in Moran. She was a member of the Moran United Methodist Church and Moran American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Gary and his wife, Pam, Pryor, Okla.; a daughter, Nancy Roberts, Iola; five Grandchildren, Taylor Mann, Claremore, Okla., Trevor Mann, Pryor, Stana Mead, Bolivar, Mo., and Dawn Wilson and Heather Curry, Iola; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Glenn Jackson and his wife, Lucille, Ellinwood, Cecil Jackson and his wife, Dottie, Gran Terra, Okla., and James Jackson and his wife, Maxine, Erie; and three sisters, Kathryn Deer, Fort Scott, Virginia Henderson, Kincaid, and Dorothy Dice, Garnet.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Moran United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Moran Cemetery.
