Donald Schulenberg

Donald Lee Schulenberg, 79, of Whitesboro, Texas, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at his home.
He was born Nov. 6, 1930, in Erie, to Leonard and Ruth Schulenberg.  
On May 22, 1950, he married Arlene McKarnin of Iola in Eureka Springs, Ark.
He served in the U.S. Army in late 1940s. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge and held a 32nd degree. He went to work for IBM in San Jose, Calif., in 1956 and retired in Austin, Texas, in 1988 after 32 years of service. He had been a resident of Whitesboro for the past 21 years. After retirement he began a lawn service in Whitesboro.
Survivors include his wife of Whitesboro; three sons and their spouses, Ronnie and Naomi, San Marcos, Texas, Terry and Linda, Blanchard, Okla., and Rick and Lynnette, Whitesboro; six grandchildren, Chad Schulenberg, Summer Schulenberg, Kurtis Schulenberg, John Luke Schulenberg, Kristy Schulenberg and Shannon Steele; a sister, Dorothy White, Modesto, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held in Iola in the spring.
