Dick Mulsow

Richard “Dick” Mulsow, 56, of rural Iola died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Aug. 12, 1953, in Iola, the son of Richard C. and Ruth (Trost) Mulsow. He grew up on a farm northwest of Yates Center and was graduated from Yates Center High School. He then was graduated from Neosho County Community College where he played baseball. He was employed at Haldex in Iola where he had worked for more than 30 years.
On Jan. 8, 1983, he married Susan K. Sowder and they made their home in Iola until moving to a farm northwest of Iola in the Horseshoe Bend area.
Mulsow enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
His wife survives, as do a son, Garrett, and two daughters, Emily and Carly, all of Iola; his parents Richard and Ruth Mulsow, Yates Center; and a sister, Dana Keling, Topeka.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Duane.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Yates Center United Methodist Church, the Rev. Russell Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Yates Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from
4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
