‘Bub’ Lauber

Oscar Leon “Bub” Lauber, 79, of Yates Center died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Yates Center Health Care.
He was born April 11, 1930, on his grandparents’ farm in rural Woodson County, the son of Oscar H. and Dessie (Gillespie) Lauber. He lived all his life on the family farm except for the time he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a lifelong cattleman and farmer raising Hereford cattle. He was a member of First Christian Church and Kansas Livestock Association for more than 50 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 13 in Yates Center.
On May 26, 1956, he married Lila Weston in Yates Center.
She survives at the home, as do two sons, David and his wife, Julie, Gridley, and Jeff, Yates Center; one grandson, Joshua Lauber, Eureka; a granddaughter, Amanda McCormick and her husband, Justin, Yates Center; a brother, Billie, Yates Center; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Interment will be in Yates Center Cemetery.
