Save the landfill

Small appliances headed for the landfill can instead be recycled through a community service project sponsored by students at Iola High School.
The students will collect toasters, fans, VHS players, computers and other items from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Recreation Community Building in Riverside Park. TV sets will not be accepted and computer monitors require a $5 fee due to lead content.
Students will also pick up items from individual homes. Call IHS at 365-4715 or e-mail to arrange pickup.
Items will be taken to Topeka to be recycled.
