One day, two arrests

Thursday was a day to remember for Iolan Reah Westerman, although it’s likely one she’d rather forget.
Westerman was arrested twice by police officers, the first time in the afternoon after officers were called to the intersection of Washington and Jackson streets.
Westerman was accused of pushing James Brakel, prompting a charge of domestic battery.
Westerman was held at Allen County Jail for six hours — common practice for arrests in domestic disputes — before she was released on bond.
That preceded a call to officers shortly after 8 p.m. to a dispute at the intersection of Neosho and Kentucky streets.
Again, Westerman was accused of shoving Brakel.
Officers took Westerman back to jail.
She is free on bond.
