‘Lights, camera and adventure!’

“Lights, Camera ... Adventure! with Martin and Osa Johnson” will be the Allen County Historical Society’s spring meeting program at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Frederick Funston Meeting Hall, 207 N. Jefferson Ave.
Martin and Osa Johnson were filmmakers, photographers and explorers. They were American heroes who brought the adventure and fascination of Africa, Borneo and the South Pacific Islands into the homes of millions of Americans.
Hands-on artifacts and photographs will highlight a program focusing on the Johnsons and the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum in Chanute, which opened in 1961.
Jacquelyn Borgeson, curator of the Safari Museum, will present the program. After completing a master’s degree in museum studies, she was hired in 1995 by the museum and was promoted to chief curator in 2002. She is the liaison between the Safari Museum in Kansas and its sister museums in Burkina Faso, West Africa, and in Sabah, Malaysia.
The public is invited.
