Dollar General store coming to Humboldt

HUMBOLDT — A Dollar General store will be built on the north edge of Humboldt.
Humboldt City Administrator Larry Tucker announced plans by GBT Realty Corp. of Brentwood, Tenn., to build the retail outlet. The developer plans to a 9,000-square-foot building on 1.4 acres near the intersection of K-224 and Ninth Street.
Humboldt City Council members agreed in June to buy 4.4 acres, contingent upon selling 1.4 acres to the developer.
Before the four-month construction project can begin, a house must be removed, Tucker said. Council members have not yet decided whether to relocate or demolish the house.
